Writing Personal History
Writing Personal History
You’re not ready to write a memoir—yet—but you’d like to pen some personal stories, perhaps just to share with family and friends, or to seed the soil for a longer work. Getting down the facts is easy, but getting in touch with the feelings can be harder. You want to entertain your readers while capturing the essence of what made your favorite relatives, formative experiences, or family vacations memorable.
In Writing Personal History , you’ll learn both the basics and advanced techniques for crafting compelling personal narrative, and once you master this form of writing, you’re guaranteed to start having fun with it.
Come to the first session with at least one person, place, event, or experience you’d like to write about, and give some thought to what image(s) you might choose to accompany your text.
Three Friday sessions, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm via Zoom: August 7, 14, 21
Leaders: Thomas G. Fiffer and Julia Bobkoff
